About Women’s Equality Day
August 26th is National Women’s Equality Day. Through their massive, peaceful civil rights movement, the women of 1920 won the right to vote in the United States. Since that day in 1920, Women’s Equality Day has begun to hold a larger meaning for women all over the world. It celebrates a movement of civil rights and equality for women everywhere. Provide women all over the world with a bigger voice by supporting organizations and companies that advocate for women’s equality.
JustNeem Empowers Women Through Soap Making
In many other countries of the world, women are still suppressed and discriminated against. It is part of our mission at JustNeem to help provide a voice for women here and in Africa. Since the beginning of our work in Mauritania, West Africa, JustNeem has been teaching new skills to women in this part of the world.
Since 2009, we have held soap making workshops for women living in the slums of Nouakchott, the capital city of Mauritania. We educate women there to use available natural resources to make quality soaps. These workshops help empower these women to start their own businesses by selling their soaps in the local markets.
We are honored to celebrate Women’s Equality Day with them. We are thrilled to see them support their families, improve their lives, and be a contributing part of Mauritanian society. Here are some of our photos of the wonderful women we work with in Mauritania. You can learn more about our work in Africa on our website: READ MORE HERE >>
Help support the women of West Africa by purchasing our products. With every purchase, JustNeem donates 10% to economic development, soap making workshops and Neem tree planting in Mauritania, West Africa.
